Frequently Asked Questions

  • How much does a headstone cost?
Many factors come in to play for pricing. It varies on the headstone size, polishing, granite color, shape of stone, etc. Our pricing includes our standard sandblast artwork on the front of the stone, delivery & installation at local cemeteries within a 30 mile radius. Gray granite is usually your best value. Many colors are available. We work within your budget to bring your ideas to life.
  • What is the estimated timeframe after I purchase a headstone?
After you purchase a stone with us, we are busy processing your order. We send your cemetery design proof & foundation fee directly to the sexton of the cemetery. They verify the size & the name placement on the stone. Once we receive the cemetery approval, manufacturing is up next as long as the stone is in-stock. - If not, we can proceed with ordering your stone. Timelines vary depending on where the granite is quarried. If you order a stone usually expect 4-8 months for arrival to our shop for most options. - If the stone is in-stock, payment is required prior to the engraving process. Our detailed sandblaster proceeds with the engraving process after a thorough review. The cemetery foundations are placed various times a year. We verify once the stone has been engraved if the foundation is ready for us. Next up, we carefully transfer the stone to the designated cemetery (weather depending). You will receive a call from us when the stone has been placed.
  • Do I have to work with the cemetery? Or do you?
There are many local cemeteries that we work with on a daily basis. Unless there is a specific lot question, we take care of all cemetery duties. Our custom design proof shows the dimensions the cemetery requires to pour the foundation. They also let us know when the stone can be placed on the foundation.
  • Why should I pre-plan my memorial?
Pre-planning your memorial in advance provides peace of mind, cost savings & you can select the stone how you like it! Many customers are intimidated starting this process but we make it very easy for you. Start thinking of what you picture your stone looking like. Visit the cemetery for ideas! Bring photos to your appointment. Since your stone is placed at the cemetery, then when the time comes, our on-site engraving division engraves the final date. This is an additional charge and we give you an idea on around what the price is. Refer to our onsite engraving page to learn more.
  • What are the payment options?
We accept all major credit card companies, check and cash. Majority of our customers pay for the monument at once. Some individuals need a little more time and we can work with you to set up a payment schedule. Our company policy requires full payment prior to engraving the stone. To offer you the convenience of using a credit card, we have a 3% credit card processing fee.
  • Do we have tombstone date engraving services?
Absolutely! If you need to add a passing date to an existing headstone, refer to our onsite engraving page for all the details. We also add additional names/information to existing stones. Our grave marker lettering projects are completed a couple times a year.
  • How do I clean my headstone?
We suggest maybe heading out in the morning when it is cooler at the cemetery. Start out slow and try Dawn dish soap & a soft bristle brush. Test a small area first before proceeding to larger areas. A lot of water is required to thoroughly rinse the stone. For more intense build up there is a cleaner called D2 that you can order from Walmart. This would be the next best option if the dish soap isn't cutting it. D2 can take sunlight and time to really clean the stone - so be patient. Be sure to use a gentle hand while cleaning the stone.
